JIMS GETS INVOLVED! On April 4 and 5,
students from Ms. Nichols' 6th grade and Mr.Stanford's 7th grade science
classes volunteered with the Department of Natural Resources on the S.C. Oyster Restoration and Enhancement (SCORE) project.
The students learned about oyster habitat and replenishment, and about
the importance of oyster beds to the environment. By the end of the day
they had built an oyster reef!

Annually, the state of South Carolina recognizes 8th grade students who display outstanding achievement on the PSAT. To be recognized as a South Carolina Junior Scholar, students must score 50 or higher on the math, verbal, or writing portion of the PSAT. JICHS Open Enrollment - Any student planning on attending James Island Charter High School next year must enroll. Enrollment is not automatic. Parents can go to the high school between the hours of 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday, to enroll their child. You must bring two proofs of residency, a copy of the student's immunization record, and a copy of the student's birth certificate.
JICHS Trojan Transition Summer Camp - James Island Charter High School will be holding its annual transition summer camp for rising freshmen. This is a great way for students to become familiar with the campus, meet people, and earn extra credit toward their Freshman Focus class. There are two sessions to choose from, June 18-22 or July 30-August 3. The camp is free and runs from 8am-1:30pm each day. Bus transportation and lunch are provided. PET HELPERS PAWS SUMMER CAMP Attention all animal lovers! Pet Helpers is holding three separate weeks of half-day summer camp the weeks of July 9-13, July 16-20, and July 23-27. The cost is $100. Applications are in the guidance office or stop by Pet Helpers on Folly Rd. to pick up an application. You can also download an application from their website at www.pethelpers.org. Spaces will fill up fast, so act now!
