Just to tell you a little about me... My family and I live here in James Island. My husband teaches biology and coaches football at James Island Charter High (Go Trojans!), and our son is in the second grade at Harbor View Elementary. We love spending time at the beach and on the water in our kayaks.
I am a Resource Teacher, serving 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I co-teach in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA classes and teach 7th and 8th grade ELA resource classes. This is my first year teaching at James Island Middle. Previously, I worked as a kindergarten teacher assistant and as a vocational rehabilitation counselor serving high school students.
I believe that every student can learn and has a meaningful purpose in life. My goal as a teacher is to consider elements of the whole student, learn from my students, collaborate with others, and design instruction based on my students' individual needs. I believe that this approach will help students with exceptionalities learn and grow in all aspects of their lives.
I am very excited about working with JIMS students this year. I look forward to watching them grow as young adults and being a part of their journey!
